Seeking research participants to study the effectiveness of the Alpha-Stim AID device in the treatment of depression
Alpha-Stim is an FDA cleared electrotherapy device prescribed around the world by physicians and other healthcare professionals to effectively treat anxiety, insomnia, and depression. Its use is non-invasive and not contraindicated with medication.
This study seeks participants in a 12-week clinical double-blind experiment to examine the Alpha-Stim’s overall effectiveness on depression only. All participants who complete the study will receive a $30.00 gift card for each visit totalling $180.00.
The study will consist of two phases,
1. Active or Sham treatment (6 weeks) and
2. Active Treatment (6 weeks). All participants will have the option to participate in phase.
This study seeks only participants who have a current diagnosis of depression. If you are on medication for the treatment of depression, you must be on a stable dose and not have any medication changes throughout the study. You must be between the ages of 18-65 years of age.
Participants will be given a device that they will use to treat themselves at home. They will be seen bi-weekly to monitor symptoms and data collection. These bi-weekly follow up appointments will take no more than 20-30 minutes.
